Hatillo taxi driver detained as leader of a home invasion gang

Last April, Fuerza Pública officers stopped a vehicle in which five persons were riding. They had ski masks and what amounted to burglary tools. But only one person was detained, said judicial agents. The arrest was because one of the five men was in violation of his parole on a previous charge, agents said.

But Thursday, judicial agents detained the driver, a man who lived in Hatillo 4. He was identified as a taxi driver who was the leader of a home invasion gang.

The Judicial Investigating Organization confirmed the arrest and said that the man recruited others who were take advantage of an open gate or other easy access. There would enter a home, threaten those inside and steal what they could.

Agents noted that the three others persons who were in the vehicle last month are fugitives.
