Marijuana found in car along Caribbean coast

Tourist police at a checkpoint in Punta Cocles, near Cahuita stopped a vehicle that contained 3.3 kilos of processed marijuana, the  Ministerio de Seguridad Pública reported.

The  Policía de Control de Drogas entered the case with the morning discovery. The marijuana was found in the truck, the ministry said. The driver was someone who has been linked to drug cases in the past, the ministry added.

The Talamanca area has many fields of marijuana, but the trade with Caribbean beach residents usually involves higher-grade imported drugs.
