Costa Rica’s firemen presented their new and more daring 2016 calendar in Heredia Sunday.
The 14 featured firemen were bare-chested as they appear in the calendar, much to the delight of female spectators. Each fireman paraded, and some performed body motions Chippendale style.
Firemen is the correct term this year because female fire fighters were not included in the revue. The 2015 calendar included one woman firefighter, but those in thar calendar wore white t-shirts.
This year six packs were the norm for the 14 selected by a committee of the Cuerpo de Bomberos. Many are volunteers and not paid firemen, and beer bellies were not permitted.
The calendar is a project to raise money for the Hospital Nacional de Niños burn unit. They are 5,000 colons each. They are available at retail outlets. Fire departments seem to have the corner on revealing calendars.
Many departments all over the world produce calendars, and there even are movies that include fire fighter calendars as part of the story line.
