Safe crackers fled without loot

Fuerza Pública officers on patrol broke up a safe cracking at the Pali supermarket in Barranca, Puntarenas, Saturday.

That was at 3 a.m., and it appears that the crooks fled. However, until mid-afternoon law officers thought the crooks still were in the building. Not until 3:30 p.m. did they enter to find no one there. They also found a damaged safe. The crooks did not manage to open it.

The Judicial Investigating Organization credited the safe job to a gang that has been committing similar crimes in the area.
