Banco Nacional will convert once again its 18-story downtown headquarters into a pink reminder of the fight against breast cancer.
The bank again will use pink lighting for the building throughout the month of October. The first night will be Thursday.
There will be an early evening ceremony at the bank to begin the illumination.
This month the bank building is decked out in the colors of Costa Rica, red, white and blue, to commemorate 194 years of independence.
October has been designated Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the World Health Organization, and nearly every country has special events for that purpose.
For example, the Fundacion Dra. Anna Gabriela Ross has scheduled its 12th annual walk and race against cancer for Sunday leaving Parque de la Merced.
The event is heavily attended. There will be other events throughout the month to raise awareness and to encourage women to seek medical checkups.
