Water cutoff announced for Saturday

An estimated 165,000 residents of Escazú, Alajuelita. Santa Ana and Desamparados will be without water Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m, according to the Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados, the state water company.

The company said that its crews would be doing preventative maintenance on a pumping station.

The company said that those who might be affected should store some water for use that day.

A list of Escazú affected areas issued by the company included San Rafael and Bello Horizontes. Los Anonos, Trejos Montealegre and Escazú Centro. But San Antonio was not listed.
