The series of June storms that caused damage in eight cantons in northeast Costa Rica will result in 75 billion colons in emergency payments.
That was announced Wednesday. The bulk of the money will go to LimÛn, SarapiquÌ and Turrialba.
The amount is about $142 million. Some 21.5 billion colons or $40.5 million will go to agencies and institutions that participated in the response to the emergency. The rest will be incorporated into a fund that will be used for a variety of projects.
