Police swept sections of Pavas and Desamparados Saturday night and Sunday morning in an effort to reduce crime. These areas have seen the majority of drug-related killings in the past year.
The Fuerza Pública effort was not particularly effective. One man was detained because he has not completed requirements issued by a court.
In addition marijuana was found along with small amounts of cocaine and crack. Police also invaded a crack house where more drugs were found.
In all, 238 persons were stopped and questioned and motorcycles and vehicles were checked, police said.
Police blame more than half the killings this year on confrontations between rival drug gangs. Murders are expected to be a record this year.
