Traffic police will be closing down the highway that runs along the west side of Parque la Sabana at 4 p.m. today and then extend the closing along the south side of the park at 6 p.m.
The reason is a soccer game between the Costa Rica national team and the team from Haiti.
There is hardly any parking at the Estadio Nacional, so highways around the park and in the southern part of Paseo Colón will be a mess as motorists seek parking. Some put their vehicles in parking lots designed for businesses and then hike to the stadium.
Others take trains and buses. The Policía de Tránsito urged the use of public transportation Thursday.
The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
