Last 2015 Art City Tour is Friday

The increasingly popular Art City Tour will have its last evening for the year Friday. This is a time when visitors can tour the area’s major cultural locations for free.

The evening also is attracting more and more visitors on bicycles who gather at Parque España to tour the sites.

Others can take advantage of free bus services.

The Ministerio de Cultural y Juventud is promoting its museums as places to visit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Friday date is new because previous events have been during the week.

The ministry is promoting visits to the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo, the Museo Nacional, the Museo Dr. Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia, the Museo de Arte Costarricense and the Centro Nacional de la Cultura.

Also open will be the Museos del Banco Central and the Museo de Jade, which are not operated by the ministry. Many galleries and other cultural facilities also will be open.

Those who wish to use a bus are asked to register ahead of time HERE!

Some 14 restaurants in Barrio Escalante also are participating with exhibitions of historic photos.

Art City Tour began in 2010, and now many of the museums time the opening of exhibits to coincide with the night.

The event has been attracting crowds.
