Taxis reported blocking emergency ramp

Most drivers yield to emergency vehicles, but at the Liberia hospital taxi drivers are blocking at time the entry to the emergency services, according to an official report.

That report was from the Defensoría de los Habitantes, which said that despite earlier complaints, the taxis again were reported blocking the access ramp Friday.

Traffic police already had put up more signs at the Hospital Dr. Enrique Baltodano Briceño to outline permitted spots for taxis, but they seem to be ignored, said the Defensoría.

The Defensoría de los Habitantes planned to schedule a meeting on the topic in Liberia.
