A Cruz Roja search and rescue crew entered the mountains at Zurquí Sunday night in another attempt to bring out three mountain bikers who went missing Saturday. The unusual nighttime rescue attempt was the third triggered by the report of the missing bikers.
The Cruz Roja said that the first team encountered the bikers about 6 a.m. Sunday, but bad weather prevented the team and the bikers from leaving the jungle.
A second team went into the same area known as Moravia, Santa Elena, later Sunday.
But the crew was unable to locate the colleagues, said the Cruz Roja.
So the third team was dispatched despite what was said to be heavy fog and rain.
The Cruz Roja promised to work through the night to bring out the bikers and their rescuers.
All were reported to be in good health, said the Cruz Roja.
