U.S. dollar strengthens again

The U.S. dollar improved again Monday against the colon currency. The Banco Central is quoting a rate of 530 colons for selling a dollar and 542.60 colons to buy one.

The U.S. dollar has moved from the Friday rate of exchange, which was 526.33/538.81.

The improvement in the value of the dollar can be attributed to the action by the U.S. Federal Resrve Wednesdy to increase slighty the prime rate and the announcement that more gradual rate hikes are coming.
