U.S. citizen reported as murder victim

A 20-year-old man identified as a U.S. citizen died by gunshots Saturday afternoon, and judicial agents reported they detained an 18-year-old suspect.

The dead man was identified tentatively by the last name of Robinson, said the Judicial Investigating Organization. The motive for the killing was reported to be a personal dispute.

The crime happened in the Las Pastoras section in San Pablo de Heredia about 2:20 p.m., the agency said. Agents detained the suspect some six hours later at a private home in the area, they said.

The victim died at the scene as a result of one shot to the chest.
