Zika virus results in stiffer controls

The health ministry said Wednesday that it is beefing up controls at the entry points for the country to spot sick travelers. The effort is to avoid the spread of the zika virus.

The agency, the Minsistrio de Saluid, said that each traveler will be asked to fill out a form stating the condition of health. Ministry workers will be looking for symptoms of zika.

The ministry also said that aircraft will be fumigated to kill any lurking mosquitoes. The controls will be at ports, airports and border crossings, an announcement said.
