President Luis Guillermo Solís signed into law Wednesday a revision of the country’s civil code. The new law provides for oral sessions in court and what officials hope will be speedy resolutions of civil cases as well as a quick execution of the sentence.
The code will not go into effect for 30 months.
Lawmakers approved the revision in December. Solís praised the new law as a great national accord. He said that the law provides for speedy, humane and transparent civilian cases.
