Worn-out tires soon to be regulated

The health ministry has established and published a regulation that makes importers responsible for vehicle tires even after they are worn out.

The regulation is designed to keep old tires from dotting the landscape and the lakes and rivers. The tires also are perfect breeding spots for mosquitoes that carry virus diseases.

The regulation goes into effect in April, and established accountability via reports from tire producers and importers.
