Another boatload of marijuana snagged

The sea was rough and the weather was stormy, but crews from the  Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas managed to intercept a Costa Rican-flagged fast boat carrying a ton of what was identified as Jamaican marijuana.

The interdiction Monday night took place 45 kilometers off Limón in the Caribbean. The three-person crew included a Costa Rican and two Nicaraguans, said the Ministerio de Seguridad Pública.

Higher quality marijuana frequently is smuggled from Jamaica to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
