Caribbean, Latin tourism called strong

The Caribbean and Central and South America show strong growth in international tourism receipts, according to the World Tourism Organization, a United Nations agency.

The Americas continued to enjoy robust results both in international arrivals and receipts in 2015, with a strong U.S. dollar fueling outbound travel from the United States and benefiting many destinations across the region, the agency reported. The Caribbean, Central America and South America all recorded 7 percent growth in receipts, while North America saw a 3 percent increase.
