Government submits cuts to budget

The central government has sent a bill to the legislature seeking $48.7 million in budget cuts while preserving funding for 255 projects, said the Ministerio de Hacienda.

Among the projects that are included in the revised budget is the sprawling farmers market planned for Sardinal.

The government has promised to effect some budget cuts to show good faith while lawmakers consider a package of tax increases.
