The Instituto Meteorológico Nacional says today will be basically the same as Wednesday with hot morning weather giving away to clouds and downpours on the Pacific coast and the Central Valley. The sky has been opening up this week between noon and 1 p.m., and there have been the expected number of lightning strikes.
The country gets hundreds of such strikes during rainy months, but only a few do damage or take out power or other cable services.
The weather service said that the rains likely will last into the early evening. That means another wet rush hour.
