Court rejects shrimp trawling policy

The  Fundación MarViva is reporting that a Costa Rican court has rejected a policy to allow shrimp trawling in an area reserved for responsible fishing off San Juanillo, Guanacaste.

The decision was against the  Instituto Costarricense de Pesca y Acuicultura that approved the practice in February 2013.

The case was brought by fishermen in the same area who do not seek shrimp, said MarViva.
