Someone made off with 250 sacks of coffee while the beans were being transported from Grecia to the docks at Moín, and the Judicial Investigating Organization said it seeks help from the public to find out what happened.
A typical sack of coffee weights about 70 kilos, so agents must be looking for strong and health thieves.
The agency said that the producer put seals on two containers, but that one obviously was tampered with when the shipping container arrived at the docks. It was empty and beans worth about 35 million colons or about $64,000 were missing.
