Reptiles liven up customs inspection

Customs police are investigating shipments of reptiles that were brought into the country by courier this week.

The creatures were found when workers at the customs agency inspected packages.

The  Ministerio de Hacienda also raised the concern about importing species that might become free and affect the wildlife here.

The same agency also said that its workers intercepted 80 drums of ethanol at the Peñas Blancas border crossing. The fluid it frequently used in bootlegging.
