Two police officers killed in crash

Two Fuerza Pública officers from southern Costa Rica died Monday morning when their official pickup swerved into the oncoming lane and was in collision with a tractor trailer. The crash happened in Tárcoles not far from the Río Grande de Tárcoles bridge on the Costanera.

Both officers were headed to training, said the Ministerio de Seguridad Pública. The ministry identified the victims as Iver Cascante Ruiz, 50, and   Greivin Delgado Mata, 38.

A third occupant of the vehicle, also a policeman, was Juan Molina Gustavino, 47, said the ministry. He was hospitalized.
