A ceremony today at 2 p.m. kicks off science month for Costa Rican officials and educators.
The event will be in the educational department auditorium at the Universidad de Costa Rica in San Pedro. Among other things, the government is marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología y Telecomunicaciones.
The event today is the first in a series that will be offered during the month to promote science and technology. The ministry said it plans roundtables, regional meetings, robot competitions, and workshops.
The topics will be diverse, said the ministry, and range from astronomy, aerospace studies, digital television and GPS technology.
