There were 10 winners at the VII Olimpiada Nacional de Robótica that wrapped up Sunday in Cartago.
The 10 were picked in age groups running as old as 25. Each category had a task for the small robots they created. The younger technicians used their creations to play soccer. Older students designed robots to separate material for recycling or to actually prepare the material for recycling.
University students in the oldest division had to create bowling robots that could see an object and then aim at it.
The winners are headed to a world competition in Nueva Delhi, India, in November. This was the seventh annual competition.
